Sonography Technologist-Women's Health OP-Per Diem
Principal Accountabilities:
- Performs advanced obstetric ultrasound exams for high-risk pregnancies,
including: first and second trimester detailed anatomy scans, cervical length
screening, Biophysical profiles (BPPs), multiple gestation evaluations, fetal
grow th and Doppler studies (umbilical artery, MCA, ductus venosus, etc.). - Introduces themself and explains exams and procedures to patients
and family prior to the beginning of the test. Addresses their questions and
concerns in professional and polite manner.
Performs advanced obstetric ultrasound exams for high-risk
pregnancies, including: first and second trimester detailed anatomy scans,
cervical length screening, Biophysical profiles (BPPs), multiple gestation
evaluations, fetal growth and Doppler studies (umbilical artery, MC A, ductus
venosus, etc.). - Processes and documents sonographic data and other pertinent
observations made during the procedure. Recognizes abnormal findings and
communicates urgent results promptly to the MFM physician.
Collaborates and assists MFM physicians with procedures such as
amniocentesis, amnioreductions, chorionic villus sampling and
sonohysterograms. - Consistently uses scan assist and follows department imaging
protocols while performing the exam.
Recognizes equipment malfunctions and takes appropriate corrective
action. - Participates in quality assurance and continuous improvement
activities. - Ensures patient’s safety, comfort, and confidentiality.
Assists and instructs sonography students, nurses, OB/GYN residents
and medical students. - Monitors adequate inventory of ultrasound supplies and notifies supervisors
of low inventory. Provides clinical coverage across multiple sites as needed
Required:
Graduate of Accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program required.
ARMS Certified required
BLS - current certification required
Preferred:
2+ experience performing Ultrasound preferred.
US Breast experience/training preferred.
