Sourcing Supplier Risk Specialist

  • Conducting\nperiodic assurance of suppliers (in collaboration with Absa Group Supplier\nAssurance), including adherence to regulatory requirements, as per the Supplier\nAssurance Standard and Methodology.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
    <\/li><\/ul>

    The role includes\nassistance with the management of other supplier risk management controls as\nrequired from time to time.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/p>

    Responsible for the\nreview, update and maintenance of Policy & Standards relating to supplier\ncontrols listed above and responsible for compliance to the relevant controls.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/p>

    Responsible for the development\n& implementation of supplier risk processes, guidelines, tools and\nenhancement of existing processes, tools, and guidelines.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/p>

    WFS ownership of\nsupplier risk assessment tools including e\-Casa and Coupa Risk Assess (CRA)<\/span><\/span>
    <\/p>

    Responsible for compiling\nrelevant reports (monthly and ad\-hoc)<\/span><\/span>
    <\/p>

    Responsible for relationship management with WFS BU\u2019s\n& Executives, WFS Operational Risk Management, Absa Compliance & Fin\nCrime, Absa Group Procurement (Supplier Risk Management) and WFS Suppliers.<\/span><\/span>

    Supplier\nDue Diligence & Screening<\/span><\/span><\/b>
    <\/div>
    • Supplier Due diligence &\nScreening include the following assessments:<\/span><\/span><\/span>
      <\/li>
      • Anti Money Laundering<\/span><\/span><\/span>
        <\/li>
      • Sanctions<\/span><\/span><\/span>
        <\/li>
      • Political Exposed People<\/span><\/span><\/span>
        <\/li>
      • Reputational Risk<\/span><\/span><\/span>
        <\/li>
      • Adverse Media<\/span><\/span><\/span>
        <\/li>
      • Ultimate Beneficiary ownership<\/span><\/span><\/span>
        <\/li><\/ul>
      • Performing supplier due diligence\nand screening activities for new WFS suppliers before on\-boarding.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
        <\/li>
      • Perform periodic screening of\ncontracted suppliers as per Third Party ABC Standard<\/span><\/span><\/span>
        <\/li>
      • Re\-screening of suppliers where a\nchange in control occurred.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
        <\/li>
      • Manage the end\-to\-end supplier due\ndiligence and screening process including stakeholder engagements, escalations,\nand relevant decisions.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
        <\/li>
      • Manage the relationship with Absa\nKYV Team to ensure effective completion of Supplier Due Diligence and screening\nassessments.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
        <\/li>
      • Manage the relationship with WFS suppliers\nincluding guidance, training, follow\-ups, and instructions.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
        <\/li><\/ul>
        Financial\nStability Assessments<\/span><\/span><\/b>
        <\/div>
        • Supplier Financial Stability\nAssessments to be completed according to the Procurement Policy & Supplier Sourcing\nStandard the Supplier Risk Management Standard and the ABC Standard.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
          <\/li>
        • Ensure Financial stability\nassessments are conducted for relevant suppliers before on\-boarding.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
          <\/li>
        • Ensure Periodic Financial\nStability Assessment are conducted as per the intervals detailed in Supplier\nmanagement Standard.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
          <\/li>
        • Ensure Financial Stability\nassessments are conducted when the control (ownership) of a supplier has\nchanged.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
          <\/li>
        • Manage the service provider\nresponsible for Financial Stability Assessments.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
          <\/li>
        • Interpretation and communication\nof FSA outcomes to Business and relevant Executive.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
          <\/li>
        • Provide guidance to Business in\ncases where the Financial Standing of a supplier is poor.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
          <\/li>
        • Obtain written risk acceptance\nfrom responsible Exec in cases where the Supplier FS is poor, and Business\ndecides to continue the relationship.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
          <\/li>
        • Provide inputs to supplier\ncontracts to mitigate the financial risk when contracting the suppliers with a\npoor financial standing.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
          <\/li>
        • Reporting on FSA outcomes.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
          <\/li><\/ul>
          Annual\nSupplier SCO Attestations<\/span><\/span><\/b>
          <\/div>
          • Responsible for annual Supplier\nControl Obligations Attestations:<\/span><\/span><\/span>
            <\/li>
            • Send SCO attestation document to suppliers annually.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
              <\/li>
            • Review attestations and communicate control gaps with Supplier/ Service\nManagers.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
              <\/li>
            • Log control gaps and manage remediation of identified gaps.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
              <\/li>
            • Liase with WFS Information security with regards to gaps pertaining to\ndata privacy and cyber security.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
              <\/li>
            • Reporting on SCO attestations, gaps and completed remediations.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
              <\/li>
            • Escalate outstanding gaps to the Head of\nSourcing<\/span><\/span><\/span>
              <\/li><\/ul><\/ul>
              Independent\nSupplier Assurance Testing<\/span><\/span><\/b>
              <\/div>
              • On an annual basis select specific\ncontrol obligations for independent assurance testing in collaboration with\nAbsa Group Supplier Assurance.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
                <\/li>
              • Oversee the assurance testing and\nengage the relevant WFS subject matter experts (SME\u2019s)<\/span><\/span><\/span>
                <\/li>
              • Review assurance report, discuss\noutcomes with relevant Execs and agree on remediation plans.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
                <\/li>
              • Obtain Exec sign\-off on assurance\nreport and remediation plan.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
                <\/li>
              • Manage\nand report on remediation and close\-out.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

                • Ensure in\-depth understanding of\nEnterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF)<\/span><\/span><\/span>

                • Responsible for annual review,\nmaintenance, and compliance with Procurement Policy and Standards relating to\nSupplier Risk Management.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
                  <\/li>
                • Understand, adopt, and implement\nnew regulatory requirements relevant to supplier risk management.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
                  <\/li>
                • Operational Ownership of the\nThird\-party ABC Standard. Annual review and inputs to ABC Standard.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
                  <\/li>
                • Assess supplier risk, identify\ncontrol gaps, develop risk mitigation strategies, escalate risks (where\nrequired) and monitoring and reporting on supplier risks.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
                  <\/li>
                • Own, maintain and manage risk\nmanagement/assessment tools \u2013 e\-Casa and Coupa Risk Assess.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
                  <\/li>
                  • Responsible to implement new CRA\nfunctionalities/requirements according to Absa requirements.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

                  • Identify, prioritise, and pursue\nopportunities to enhance WFS\u2019s supplier risk management processes and introduce\ninnovative approaches and solutions to optimise efficiency and effectiveness.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

                  • Active participation in Internal and External\nAudit projects.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

                    Stakeholder\nManagement<\/span><\/span><\/b>

                    • Direct engagement with Absa\n(Compliance & Fin Crime) & WFS Executives in cases where potential\nsuppliers are flagged because of the due diligence & screening assessment.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
                      <\/li>
                    • Collaborate with relevant Absa\nstakeholders to ensure WFS systems, policies, standards, controls, and\nprocesses are aligned with regulatory and policy requirements.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
                      <\/li>
                    • Responsible for working with WFS\nOperational Risk Management to ensure alignment and compliance to ERMF and ABC\nStandard.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
                      <\/li>
                    • Collaboration with WFS Sourcing\n& BU Supplier Managers to ensure effective contract handover and supplier\nmanagement.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
                      <\/li>
                    • Guide and instruct supplier\nrepresentatives to ensure compliance to WFS control requirements.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
                      <\/li>
                      • Provide training to suppliers where required.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

                        Requirements<\/h3>

                        • MinimumNQF level 7 \u2013\nrelated degree in Risk Management, Sourcing or Project Management<\/span><\/span><\/span>

                        • Any other Risk management\nrelated qualification. <\/span><\/span><\/span>

                          EXPERIENCE REQUIRED<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span>
                          <\/p>

                          • 5\nyears\u2019 experience in Supplier risk management or related risk management field,<\/span><\/span><\/span>
                            <\/li>
                          • 3\nyears\u2019 experience in procurement with focus being on roles related to sourcing,\nsupplier on\-boarding, contracting, continuous improvements projects and process\nautomation within procurement/sourcing environment.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
                            <\/li>
                          • 3\nyears\u2019 experience in the Financial Services Industry in a procurement or risk\nmanagement role.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
                            <\/li>
                          • Experience\nin Financial statement analysis and interpretation<\/span><\/span><\/span>
                            <\/li>
                          • Sound knowledge and experience of various legal\nentities, company structures and shareholding analysis.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
