Special Education Teacher

We are an inclusive international school located in Orchard Road offering classes to both mainstream children andchildren with developmental or academic challenges.

We are looking for a dedicated andadaptable Special Education Teacher to join our academic team. The idealcandidate is committed to delivering high-quality education, differentiatinginstruction to support diverse learners, and working collaboratively with staffto enhance student outcomes.

What You'll Do:

  • Conduct small group teaching in an inclusive setting for students with learning difficulties
  • Demonstrated experience supporting students with learning difficulties, including the ability to deliver targeted instruction in literacy, numeracy, and other core academic areas.
  • Able to adapt and modify curriculum materials and teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
  • Develop and implement an individualized Education Plan (IEPs) tailored to each student's specific needs, in collaboration with other educators and specialists.
  • Deliver high-quality instruction that meets the educational and developmental needs of students with disabilities.
  • Regularly monitor and evaluate students' progress,adjusting instructional strategies as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of students' performance, including IEP documentation.
  • Workclosely with support staff, and other specialists to ensure a coordinatedapproach to education.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding students' progress, challenges, and achievements.
  • You may be assigned a mix of both teaching and leadone or more CCA activities per week depending on the needs of the school.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field from an accredited university.
  • Prior teaching experience with IPC or IMYC frameworks is highly preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with children with learning difficulties, delivering targeted instruction in literacy, numeracy, and other core subjects.
  • Familiarity with developing andimplementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), including linkingassessments to IEP development.
  • Strong interpersonal andcommunication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively withstudents, staff, and parents.
  • Proficiency in classroom and behaviormanagement techniques and the use of appropriate intervention strategies.
