Specialist, Core Banking Support

Provide technical support for key business applications across Core Banking, Integration, Data Warehouse, and Pricing environments by diagnosing and resolving incidents, delivering timely troubleshooting, and ensuring minimal disruption to operations. Monitor application performance and health, execute predefined support procedures, and assist with routine maintenance activities to maintain system stability, security, and reliability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address issues, escalate complex problems where necessary, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts aimed at enhancing application efficiency and overall service delivery.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • A qualification or certification in SQL is considered an added advantage.

Experience Required

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience supporting designated applications, preferably within banking, financial services, or a related industry.
  • Familiarity with Core Banking systems, peripheral applications, and integration platforms.
  • Experience troubleshooting technical issues within defined service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Experience supporting application upgrades, patches, and releases.
  • Track record of delivering secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
  • Experience with monitoring tools, performance tuning, and security practices.

Key Job Functions

  • Assess the impact of proposed changes on designated applications to minimise disruption and ensure system stability.
  • Review technical specifications for changes impacting Core Banking and related systems to ensure requirements are accurately captured.
  • Support localisation requirements and ensure adherence to Group standardisation principles.
  • Contribute to application development and enhancement initiatives by providing input on requirements and participating in project activities.
  • Monitor, log, and track system defects using standard tools, ensuring timely resolution and clear documentation.
  • Perform API testing and support validation of system integrations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and support efficient application delivery.
  • Conduct thorough API testing and collaborate with developers to validate integrations.

Knowledge Required

  • Strong knowledge of transactional banking domains (deposits, lending, account management, product engines, regulatory processes)
  • Strong understanding of the payments ecosystem and banking operations
