Sports Specialist (CYS) NF-03

This position is located at Fort Riley, KS. Child and Youth Services (CYS) Employee Childcare Fee applicable to employees working at least 15 hours per week: First Child: 100% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Second and Subsequent Child: 25% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid.

Provide support and assistance to CYS Youth Sports and Fitness Director in the area of fitness, volunteer coaches, and maintaining National Youth Sports Coaches Association training guidelines.

Supports the operation of intramural programs for youth and provides skill-building programs for children. Assists coaches in practice procedures, operating an effective coach/parent meeting, sport-specific training, and parent relations.

Conducts practice and game visits as required for the purpose of providing support and assistance.

Interacts with children and youth using approved child guidance and youth development techniques. Encourages participant interest, good sportsmanship, and safety.

Provides oversight and accountability for program participants in compliance with DoD, Army, and local policies, guidance, and standards. Maintains control of and accounts for whereabouts and safety of children and youth.
