SPRAY PAINTER

Responsibilities

Washes, scrapes, sands, torches, and/or smoothes interior and exterior surfaces before painting, varnishing, lacquering, or applying other related materials.

Inspect surfaces and review blueprints to determine specific painting requirements for each project

Prepare surfaces by scraping, sanding, cleaning, and removing old paint to ensure proper adhesion

Repair surface imperfections by filling cracks and holes with plaster or other materials to create smooth finishes

Mix paints and finishes accurately to achieve the required color, texture, and consistency for each job

Apply paint, varnish, and protective coatings using brushes, rollers, spray equipment, and caulking guns to deliver quality results

Build and dismantle scaffolding safely and protect surrounding fixtures and work areas during painting

Estimate project costs and negotiate pricing with clients when required to support project planning

Applies protective coats of paint, varnish, lacquer, and/or other related materials to interior and exterior surfaces of steel/metal structures.

Requirements:

Knowledge of painting materials and how to select, mix, and apply them.

Able to work at height

Physically fit and able to work in an outdoor construction environment

Familiar with the use of scaffolding, ladders, gondolas, or boom lifts

Aptitude in using appropriate tools.

Conscientious with great attention to detail.

Follow workplace health and safety regulations consistently to maintain a safe working environment

Work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and public holidays as needed to meet project deadlines
