Sr Automation Control Engineer
Through focus in Controls and Automation Engineering, support on going production activities, participate in the improvement of existing processes and development of new technologies.
· Document, define, measure and improve existing manufacturing processes using Industry accepted Automation and Controls Engineering Techniques (PLCs, data base management, etc.)
· Document, define, measure and improve existing software validation processes using Industry accepted Automation and Controls Engineering Techniques (Unit Testing, Integration Testing, SQA, etc.)
· Ensure that the use and application of manufacturing processes, techniques, and tools are optimal in terms of quality and productivity.
· Research, define, develop, and implement new state of the art manufacturing processes, methods, and technologies.
· Integrate and automate existing manufacturing systems and processes.
· Implement and champion continuous process improvement methodologies and techniques.
· Understand process capability metrics and work with process engineers to improve the performance of the operation overall, from an Equipment/Controls/Automation perspective.
· Perform IQ, OQ, and PQ validations as needed because of Equipment and SW modifications and/or implementations.
· Mechanical/electrical equipment and software installation, qualification, validation, maintenance, and trouble shooting.
· Improve equipment capacity, uptime efficiency, and reliability.
· Develop and conduct process and equipment training courses and produce associated course material.
· Analyze, specify, and implement cost effective equipment that improves operational performance and output.
· Cost performance, equipment cost justification, breakeven points analysis.
· Manufacturing process database management when needed (troubleshooting).
· Ability to work with minimal or no supervision.
· Ensures the effective fulfillment of objectives and deadlines assigned to the group.
· Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to Management team and/or Human Resources.
· Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
· Participate actively in design process for optical engineering applications for computer vision / processing projects.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
· Coach and mentor junior engineers, supervisors, technicians, leads and line personnel on process issues

· Undergraduate degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Technology or any applicable Engineering discipline.
· 5-7 years relevant experience in Controls / Automation Engineering, or related field, is required.
· Strong PC Software programming experience in C ++, C Sharp, SQL Server, Visual Basic in a manufacturing environment.
· Strong hands-on experience in programming, troubleshooting, modification and programs creation from cero with the following technologies:
· Rockwell Automation Software: Studio 5000 (RSLogix 5000), Factory Talk Machine Edition/Site Edition, ServoMotion Controls System as Kinetix ServoDrives, Advance process control as Fuzzy Logix, PID Function and Functional Charts Languague, Ethernet-IP / TCP-IP Networks.
· Strong experience to create Electrical design, schematics, drawings in Autocad, and Controls Panel Design/Creation (Research supplier products for assembly components), develop electrical bill of materials.
· 5+ years of experience in Fanuc Robotics Pick-place applications, iRVision System, Adept and Omron Scara Robots
· Strong Experience Programming Vision Systems using Cognex and Matrox Software’s, DataMatrix/Bar Codes.
· Familiar with RFID technology, label printing,
· Other technology is a plus: 3D Printing, Laser Marking, Laser Trimming, 5 Axis CNC Machines, Infrared System, Ultraviolet System.
· Six Sigma Training and experience (Green Belt minimum) preferred.
· FDA regulated environment experience (highly desirable).
· Hands-on experience in optical engineering to select lenses, camera, and mechanical design for computer vision applications is highly desirable.
