About You:

Reporting to the Manager, Financial Analysis, you are part of a hands-on team who play a critical role in managing the month-end accounting close with a focus on revenue recognition and related receivables balances across multiple entities.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in monthly and quarterly close cycles, generate financial analyses, and management reports with supporting notes for internal and external distribution
  • Support the analysis of complex technical accounting matters, while continuously proposing process efficiencies and controls improvement
  • Interact with auditors regarding external audits and ensuring compliance with control and governance requirements
  • Develop in-depth product knowledge and contribute to supporting the decision-making process on business initiatives
  • Collaboration across the Finance team and interacting with Reporting, Tax, and FP&A
  • Support financial system development/data testing to ensure accuracy and consistency across financial systems and reporting frameworks
  • Prepare covenant calculations/projections for credit facilities, ensuring compliance with lender agreements
  • Enhance financial processes through automation and data analytics, leveraging technology to improve efficiency, accuracy, and reporting capabilities.
  • Maintain and optimize the FIN tool add-in in Excel to support period-end financial close processes and ensure accurate reporting
  • Develop board meeting presentations and financial statement notes, providing key insights and supporting materials for executive decision-making and compliance reporting

Requirements

  • CPA designation (or near completion) with strong practical accounting experience
  • 3+ years’ completing month end close processes and relevant IFRS 9 experience
  • Curiosity and a commitment to understanding complex financial transactions is essential
  • Dedicated to continual process improvement with strong internal controls and ability to adapt well to change in a fast-paced environment
  • Motivated, committed, and resourceful team player, adept at working in a small team setting
  • Possesses robust analytical skills with the ability to address issues in an effective and practical manner, with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship management skills
  • Experience and knowledge in effectively visualizing information (Power BI, Power Query) from detail to summary for multiple audiences, with strong communication skills
  • Power BI experience in writing DAX, Power Query, preparing data for deep analytics (Asset)
  • Strong computer literacy with advanced level Excel and VBA skills (index, xlook-up, and other advanced formulas to transform and manipulate)
  • Fin-tech/ financial institutions related experience is an asset

      Salary Range

      $45.00/hr – $55.00/hr

      Final compensation is determined by market conditions, location, and the candidate’s experience, skills, and education. This role may also be eligible for performance-based incentive programs and total compensation may include variable incentives, such as bonuses and commissions.
