Job Description

We are seeking a Sr. IT Engineering Manager, US Commercial IT to join the Global Gilead IT organization within the US Commercial Field Enablement team. It focuses on managing and supporting a cloud-based CRM data replication layer, including data replication, archiving, and writeback processes, and reports to the US Commercial IT Field Enablement lead.

The position requires close collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders across US and global Commercial and Medical Operations, including field sales, medical teams, and Business Conduct.

In addition, the role partners with IT teams responsible for systems within the field enablement ecosystem.

This is position can be located in Foster City, CA, Parsippany, NJ or Raleigh, NC


Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Own cloud-based CRM data replication layer supporting compliance and all downstream integrations

  • Manage and monitor replication pipelines for data integrity and availability

  • Define and govern RPO and RTO for business-critical data flows

  • Troubleshoot replication failures and latency issues

  • Architect and operate the CRM data replication layer on AWS S3, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability

  • Partner with MDM, Analytics Hub, Compliance, and Business Conduct teams to ensure downstream readiness

  • Manage AWS S3 storage, replication, archival, and cost optimization

  • Work with the MSP team to ensure applications continue to meet business needs

  • Work with enterprise IT teams to ensure in-scope applications remain compliant with Gilead security, architecture, compliance and other requirements

  • Works closely with the respective Product Owners for Veeva / Vault CRM, Veeva Align and other field applications to ensure end user experience of field applications remains consistent and positive

Minimum Required Education and Years of Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree and Eight Years’ Experience OR

  • Masters' Degree and Six Years’ Experience

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS services including S3, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch, Glue, and EventBridge

  • Strong understanding of data replication architectures and managing replication operations

  • Cloud cost management and optimization experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect

  • Experience with enterprise platform / application assessment

  • Experience working in a multi-vendor scenario; vendor management experience is a plus

  • Strong communication skills to engage directly with business users, IT and vendor teams

  • Experience supporting governed/compliant data environments (HIPAA, GDPR, FDA 21 CFR Part 11)

  • Knowledge of RPO/RTO and resiliency concepts

  • High level of personal integrity consistent with Gilead’s core values (Excellence, Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity and Inclusion)

The salary range for this position is:

Bay Area: $169,320.00 - $219,120.00.


Raleigh: $146,200.00 - $189,200.00.


Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
