Sr. Occupational Therapist Per Diem, Day Shift

Job Summary:

Provides a range of clinical services related to the evaluation and treatment of patient rehabilitation. Participates in and teaches patient care planning and reporting. Communicates relevant information to individuals directly involved in patient care. Serves as a clinical instructor, supervisor and mentor. Performs manager and coordinator duties as needed. Serves as technical specialist on daily tasks and cases. Regularly models/mentors and trains staff on technical skills.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:

  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD): Required; only if obtained license on or after January 2007; or foreign equivalent.
  • Three years' technical experience: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Occupational Therapy licensure in state of practice: Required
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required

Facility Specific License/Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required

Essential Functions:

  • Performs and documents consultations, evaluations and assessments. Identifies problem areas and abnormal findings. Implements appropriate advanced clinical tests.
  • Performs patient care, plans treatment programs, evaluates intervention responses and modifies treatment plans appropriately. Implements appropriate advanced treatment techniques.
  • Completes comprehensive and accurate clinical documentation within established deadlines.
  • Provides education and training to patients and caregivers, while incorporating learning style preferences.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
