Sr. Professional Services Engineer

As the Senior Professional Services Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating our most strategic customers to achieve their desired business outcomes. A core function of this role involves translating intricate requirements into highly technical solutions; you can expect to support multiple internal and external projects concurrently. As a trusted advisor to customers, as well as to the Customer Excellence and Product & Engineering organizations, you’ll actively contribute to building, supporting, and sustaining programs that cultivate the enablement of essential Smartsheet technical knowledge. This knowledge will empower the ability to design, deploy, maintain, and govern enterprise customer solutions at scale.

You will also leverage your technical expertise, in-depth knowledge of Smartsheet solutions, awareness of market trends, customer feedback, and the product roadmap to inform and update new and existing offerings, aligning them seamlessly with company goals. Collaborating closely with Professional Services Sales, Product, Product Marketing and Engineering, you will ensure the feasibility of technical solutions and the delivery of best-in-class technical outcomes adhering to established best practices.

You will report to the Senior Director, Professional Services Engineering. This is a remote eligible position and you may work remotely from anywhere in the US where Smartsheet is registered.

You Will:

  • Facilitate technical scoping and delivery on some of Smartsheet’s most strategic customers to achieve their desired business outcomes
  • Influence the evolution of Solution and product offerings within the Professional Services Engineering team through your knowledge of market trend analysis, customer feedback, and the current & future product roadmap.
  • Collaborate closely with the Product & Engineering organizations to propel the evolution of products, grounded in a deep understanding of customer needs, feedback, and documented Top Enterprise Issues.
  • Conduct technical solution feasibility reviews to support our senior delivery teams uphold quality standards and ensure adherence to design and build best practices within the Professional Services team.
  • Provide critical support to the Professional Services Sales team in providing technical expertise on complex opportunities, ensuring the feasibility of proposed solutions.
  • Serve as the authoritative Smartsheet subject matter expert (SME), encompassing comprehensive knowledge of solutions inclusive of all product capabilities.
  • Play a pivotal role in supporting Programs dedicated to enhancing technical Smartsheet knowledge across the Customer Excellence organization, fostering continuous growth.
  • Uphold and leverage product expertise to drive business development activities, ensuring a strategic alignment with the ever-evolving Smartsheet landscape.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

You Have:

  • 7-8 years relevant work experience or equivalent combination of relevant work experience and education
  • Minimum of 2 years project management experience
  • 2+ years experience working with the Smartsheet platform.
  • Demonstrated success in designing, building, and implementing advanced / cutting-edge Smartsheet solutions that scale (inclusive of Advance applications, Connectors, Multi-Tier functionality, cross-functional usage, and non-standard use cases).
  • Excellent client management skills and the ability to work with customers in both pre-sales and post-sales environments.
  • Excellent solution visioning and problem solving skills.
  • Proven success partnering across departments.
  • Proven success mentoring and developing complex concepts with peers.

Smartsheet provides a competitive base salary range for roles that may be hired in different geographic areas we are licensed to operate our business from. Actual compensation is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, level of professional, educational experience, skills, and specific candidate location. In addition, this role will be eligible for a market competitive incentive opportunity.

US Base Salary Pay Range
$122,500$160,000 USD
