Sr. Quality Assurance Analyst

We are actively seeking a talented Senior QA Analyst to join our Distribution Partner Integration (DPI) team in support of the Consumer Markets Division, based in Newport Beach, CA. This role may be hybrid or fully remote.

As a Senior QA Analyst, you will play a key role in Pacific Life’s growth and long-term success by enabling annuity product sales and servicing on the industry’s annuity Order Entry platforms. You will fill a new role on DPI’s Platform team, joining a dynamic group of systems analysts, developers, and QA analysts. You will collaborate closely with technologists across the organization and business partners such as key account managers, responsible for ensuring software quality through manual and automated testing.

How you will move us forward:
• Leverage your insurance industry/technology experience to deliver comprehensive internal testing in support of company, industry, and vendor initiatives

• Work independently to develop comprehensive testing strategy and formal test plans, analyze test results to validate existing functionality and recommend corrective action

• Execute manual and exploratory testing, ensuring comprehensive test coverage to drive proper delivery outcomes

• Manage defect tracking, triaging, and resolution processes, working closely with analysts and developers

• Develop and maintain test automation frameworks for functional, regression, API, and performance testing

• Work with internal business partners to support external user testing, to meet project deadlines and critical deployment dates

• Assess automation opportunities while partnering with internal business and technology teams, and recommend process, product, or service enhancements

• Drive early and continuous testing throughout the development lifecycle, adopting testing methodologies that support agile/kanban and ensuring early defect detection in the development lifecycle

• Maintain documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software


The experience you bring:
• 8+ years annuity industry experience, a minimum of 5 years quality assurance experience focused on annuity product and order entry ecosystem

• Demonstrated ability to form meaningful partnerships (internal/external) at all organizational levels resulting in practical solutions to complex problems

• Excellent problem solving, root cause analysis, critical and strategic thinking skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance & Quality Engineering

• 5+ years annuity industry experience, focused on products and services on Order Entry platforms through PPfA/DPfA, forms-based or wizard-based configuration

• Demonstrated hands-on expertise in manual testing, test case design, and defect management

• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)

What makes you stand out:
• Working knowledge of DTCC and ACORD annuity industry standards

• Applied experience working with DTCC data structures and policy admin systems integration

• Experience with FIDx/Envestnet or similar third-party platforms

• Experience in Life Insurance, Mutual Funds, and/or Institutional space

• Experience navigating Mainframe systems to assist with data validation

• QA Analysis certification, or equivalent education/training

• Familiarity with technologies such as API’s, Web Services, AI

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.

$113,490.00 - $138,710.00
