Sr. R&D Equipment Design & Development Engineer

This is a hands-on interdisciplinary development role that will require versatility across a variety of tasks in a highly collaborative environment. Minimum Qualifications B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with minimum of 10 years of industry experience Experience with mechanical design in CAD systems (Solidworks, NX, AutoCAD) Experience in complex equipment system design, assembly, testing, validation, bring-up Experience w/ various precision motion systems, vacuum systems, machine imaging & sensing systems, handling and/or gripping of miniaturized components, pneumatics, etc. Experience with troubleshooting equipment issues by identifying the root cause and implementing an effective solution Preferred Qualifications PhD degree with 3+ years or MS degree with 5+ years of experience working on related field preferred Good technical communication to clearly layout design features, capability, and challenges Flexible and collaborative: willing to work in fast paced lab environment and open to incorporate various ideas and feedback Attentive to detail with demonstrated ability to work with teams to produce professional, high-quality results Proven track record to bring novel equipment design from R&D to scalable solutions AI/ML experience to augment or enhance mechanical design, data analysis, or training models Programming (such as Python, C++, or Labview) for system controls, GUI and algorithms Well organized and clear communication of in depth technical results and issues to executive management
