Staff Development Experience Engineer

You will lead and deliver developer experience and platform initiatives. You will own CI/CD pipelines and release workflows, operate and evolve Flux-based GitOps, and define Helm chart standards. You will design Kubernetes (EKS) guardrails and multi-tenant patterns, support hybrid AWS and on-prem environments, and integrate observability and SLOs. You will embed security scanning, SBOMs, and policy-as-code into pipelines and cluster admission, produce documentation and enablement artifacts, run office hours, and communicate trade-offs and progress with stakeholders. You will leverage AI tools to improve automation, productivity, and decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Set technical direction and lead engineers through design, implementation, and rollout of developer experience initiatives
  • Standardize build test and release workflows using Jenkins and GitHub with reusable pipelines and policy gates
  • Operate and evolve Flux-based GitOps for environment promotion rollback and drift detection
  • Define and maintain Helm chart standards release processes and documentation
  • Design Kubernetes EKS guardrails multi-tenant patterns and golden templates
  • Build consistent developer workflows spanning AWS and on-prem datacenters including connectivity secrets and artifact flows
  • Establish observability and SLOs and integrate logs metrics traces progressive delivery and automated rollback
  • Embed security scanning SBOMs and policy-as-code into pipelines and cluster admission
  • Produce high-quality docs examples CLI templates and run enablement sessions
  • Partner with Security SRE and product teams and communicate trade-offs to engineering leadership
  • Champion and adopt AI tools to improve team performance and outcomes

Requirements

  • 7+ years in platform devops or SRE roles including 2+ years leading or mentoring engineers
  • Proven technical leadership delivering platform capabilities used by many teams
  • Deep hands-on experience with GitHub Jenkins Flux Helm and Kubernetes (especially EKS)
  • Significant experience in AWS and on-prem datacenter or virtualization platforms
  • Expertise in CI/CD design artifact and version strategies trunk-based development and environment promotion
  • Strong SRE fundamentals including reliability capacity planning incident playbooks and post-incident improvement
  • Excellent communication stakeholder management and ability to write design docs and present trade-offs
