Join the Power Systems Group (PSG) Technologist Team, where analog design meets technology leadership and future-defining innovation. This is not a traditional IC design role. You will operate at the intersection of deep analog expertise and system-level vision, driving the exploration and enablement of next-generation (H2/H3) technologies across Power, Supervisors, Functional Safety, and Protection ICs.
As a Staff Engineer, you will:
- Shape architectures that will define future product lines
- Translate system challenges in industrial automation and robotics into silicon innovation
- Bridge early-stage technology exploration to real-world product impact
Responsibilities
- Lead architecture definition and transistor-level design of advanced analog and mixed-signal ICs, with focus on power, supervision, and protection systems
- Explore and prototype emerging H2/H3 technologies, including:
- Functional Safety-enabled IC architectures
- Intelligent protection and diagnostics
- High-reliability, high-performance power solutions
- Translate system-level requirements (robotics, industrial automation, safety systems) into scalable IC architectures
- Drive innovation from concept to enablement, including early silicon, demonstrators, and reference platforms
- Contribute to functional safety architectures, including diagnostic concepts, redundancy strategies, and safety mechanisms
- Mentor engineers and elevate organizational capability in advanced analog design and system thinking
- Own transistor-level design of analog and mixed-signal blocks (e.g., amplifiers, references, ADC/DAC front-ends, bias circuits, oscillators, regulators).
- Lead design reviews, verification reviews, and silicon correlation activities.
- Support layout, test, validation, lab debug, measurement correlation, data review, and documentation for first-silicon bring-up.
Requirements
- BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Strong experience in analog/mixed-signal IC design (typically 7–10+ years)
- Proven expertise in one or more domains:
- Power management (LDO, DC-DC, drivers)
- Supervisor and protection circuits
- High-voltage or high-reliability IC design
- Deep understanding of:
- Transistor-level design, simulation, and silicon validation
- Noise, stability, matching, reliability, and parasitics
- Experience with Cadence design tools (Virtuoso) and lab evaluation
- Strong plus:
- Experience in Functional Safety (IEC 61508 / ISO 26262)
- Exposure to industrial, robotics, or automotive systems
- System-level thinking and ability to bridge architecture - circuit implementation
