Staff Nurse (Disabled Home) (ID: 702349)

Our established client within the residential home setting is looking to hire a Staff Nurse to join their team. The incumbent will be working closely with a team of nursing aides and enrolled nurses to provide nursing care for residents with intellectual disabilities.

  • Work Hours: Mon-Fri staggered hours (e.g., 7.30am – 4.30pm / 9am – 6pm… latest approx.. 12pm – 9pm)

  • Working in a residential home for individuals with disabilities (e.g. autism)

  • Annual AWS + Performance Bonus

Responsibilities:

  • Screen, treat, and assist in providing nursing care for residents.

  • Administer medications and execute various treatments, responding effectively to emergencies.

  • Mentor and guide Nursing Aides and Enrolled Nurses in daily nursing practices.

  • Teach residents appropriate behaviours and assist them with their daily routines.

  • Conduct routine procedures for new admissions and residents returning to the facility.

  • Refer sick residents for medical examinations and manage their follow-up care.

  • Coordinate transportation and appointment arrangements for residents attending off-site appointments.

  • Maintain accurate medical records, updating residents' information regularly.

  • Supervise group meals and assist residents during meal times.

  • Provide first-aid treatment in emergencies, referring patients to a hospital if necessary.

  • Oversee the work of Assistant Nurses, Nursing Aides, and Health Attendants.

  • Manage the needs of residents attending educational sessions or going to work.

  • Investigate incidents occurring within the facility and report findings to management.

  • Manage the ordering and upkeep of medical supplies and equipment.

  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Registered nurse with a valid SNB license

  • Prior experience in nursing field is an added advantage.

  • Comfortable working with children and adults with multiple disabilities

  • Ability to perform basic nursing procedures independently

  • Occasionally required to attend to events on weekend (will be granted off in lieu)
