About the RoleThe Department of Medicine at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking an accomplished physician leader in Genitourinary (GU) Medical Oncology to help guide and grow a high-impact clinical and research program within an NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. This is an exceptional opportunity to shape the future of GU oncology care while advancing innovative translational and clinical research that improves outcomes for patients with prostate, bladder, kidney, testicular, and other genitourinary malignancies.
The successful candidate will join a highly collaborative multidisciplinary environment where medical oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, translational scientists, and clinical researchers work together to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered cancer care. This role is ideal for an academic oncologist energized by program development, clinical trial expansion, mentorship, and translating scientific discovery into meaningful advances in patient care.

What You’ll Do
• Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Genitourinary Medical Oncology program
• Recruit, mentor, and support attending physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary clinical teams
• Collaborate closely with surgical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology, radiology, and supportive care teams to deliver coordinated inpatient and outpatient care
• Develop and implement clinical pathways that enhance quality, consistency, operational efficiency, and patient experience
• Support continued growth and expansion of GU oncology clinical services and multidisciplinary programs
• Define and advance the clinical and scientific vision for GU Medical Oncology
• Expand patient access to innovative therapies, clinical trials, and translational research initiatives
• Increase clinical trial participation and strengthen investigator-initiated research efforts
• Foster productive collaboration between laboratory scientists and clinical investigators
• Build strategic partnerships internally and with external institutions to enhance research productivity and scientific visibility
• Support the development of novel therapeutic approaches, including immunotherapy and precision oncology initiatives
• Mentor and educate fellows, residents, advanced practice providers, junior faculty, and trainees
• Support an academic environment grounded in collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning
• Contribute to faculty development and leadership cultivation within the division
• Serve on departmental and institutional committees
• Participate in strategic planning and organizational growth initiatives
• Contribute to interdisciplinary and translational research collaborations across Roswell Park
• Foster a culture aligned with High Reliability Organization principles emphasizing excellence, accountability, compassion, and teamwork

The Genitourinary Oncology Program at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is nationally recognized for its multidisciplinary approach to GU cancer treatment, translational research, and clinical trial innovation. Faculty collaborate across medical oncology, surgery, radiation oncology, pathology, genomics, immunology, and translational science to advance the understanding and treatment of GU malignancies.

What You’ll Bring
• MD or MD/PhD with significant experience in Genitourinary Medical Oncology
• Academic accomplishments consistent with appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor level
• Demonstrated leadership experience within a clinical and academic oncology environment
• Commitment to multidisciplinary, patient-centered cancer care and collaborative decision-making
• Experience developing or leading clinical research and translational oncology programs
• Passion for mentorship, education, and faculty development
• Executive presence, strategic vision, and the ability to foster collaboration across clinical, scientific, and institutional teams
• Interest in expanding innovative therapeutic approaches, clinical trials, and translational discovery initiatives
Qualifications:
Required Education and ExperienceLicense or Certification Requirement
1. License or permit to practice as a Medical Doctor in the State of New York.
2. Possession of or eligibility for a valid medical specialty certificate in Medical Oncology or a specialty of Hematologic Oncology, Bone Marrow Transplantation, Solid Tumor/Investigational Therapeutics, Pulmonary Medicine, and Infectious Diseases.
Education and Experience
Medical Doctor degree and prior full-time experience in the field of Medical Oncology or a specialty of Hematologic Oncology, Bone Marrow Transplantation, Solid Tumor/Investigational Therapeutics, Pulmonary Medicine, and Infectious Diseases.
NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
Preferred, but Not Required
• Track record of NIH funding and publication in high-impact scientific journals
• Experience as a physician-scientist with laboratory research and transferable funding
• History of investigator-initiated clinical research and clinical trial leadership
• Expertise in immunotherapy development and novel treatment strategies in GU oncology
• Interest in elevating national and international visibility in Genitourinary Oncology
• Dedication to fostering a culture grounded in innovation, inclusion, accountability, compassion, safety, and High Reliability Organization principles
