The Sterile Processing Technician Certified I is responsible for the safe and effective reprocessing of surgical instruments and medical devices, including decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and distribution. This role ensures compliance with infection control standards, manufacturer guidelines, and regulatory requirements to support patient safety and clinical operations. The technician maintains accurate documentation for traceability, participates in quality assurance initiatives, and engages in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices and organizational policies.

Responsibilities
Responsible for delivery of care for Iowa Health-Des Moines customers through the efficient and timely management of instruments, supplies and equipment resources.
Qualifications
High School Graduate or GED equivalent. Must read, write, speak and comprehend English fluently. Employee must have successfully completed a Central Sterile certification process and must have a current certification license. Successful completion of in-house modular education program. Will accept non-certified applicants with previous related experience.
