Store Person - Underground Stores

Please note that this role is located in our above-surface stores warehouse.

Reporting to the Underground Purchasing & Logistics Supervisor, you will be responsible for the storage, issue and receipting of warehouse stock, spares and consumables for our underground mining operation.

Working a 7 days on, 7 days off, 12hr (7am - 7pm) roster, within a positive team environment where knowledge is shared, this is a great opportunity to start or continue your career in the mining industry. On the job support and mentoring will go hand-in-hand with the experience you will bring to this stores role.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Inventory control - receiving, issuing, storage, inward/outward shipping of supply
  • Daily and rolling stock takes, accurately recording levels
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Operating the forklift in a safe and efficient manner
  • Housekeeping of the warehouse and remote yards in a safe, clean and tidy condition
  • Comply with all safety requirements, company policies and procedures
  • Data entry and processing of invoices in Pronto
  • Supply of goods and materials in a timely manner
  • Employ best practice inventory management and logistics processes
  • Hold a NZ Visa / rights to work in NZ
  • Hold a full, class 1 Drivers licence
  • Competent and confident operating a forklift - F licence is preferred

Experience

  • Previous experience in warehousing, logistics or parts within a mining sector
  • Computer literacy is essential including Excel and Pronto or SAP
  • Ideally hold a qualification relating to warehousing or logistics
  • A high level of accuracy in stock taking and data entry
  • A high degree of safety awareness
  • Demonstrated experience providing solutions to problems
  • A self-driven, results and improvement orientated approach
  • The ability to communicate within a team environment
  • Undertake periodic stock take of inventory and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Residential role, live and work in the stunning region of Otago, NZ.
