Strategic Partner Development Principal Lead, Android Platform Partnerships (Mandarin, English)

Google's line of products and services to our clients never stops growing. The Partnerships Development team is responsible for seeking and exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Equipped with your business acumen and extensive product knowledge, you are right on the front line of interacting with our partners, and helping them find ways to grow using Google's newest product offerings. Your knowledge of relevant verticals and relationships with key industry players will help shape our great applications and content for products such as YouTube, Google TV and Commerce.

As a Strategic Partner Development Principal Lead on the Android Business Development and Hardware Platform Partnerships team, you will drive our business and partnerships with top hardware partners, including Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), Original Device Manufacturer (ODM), SOC etc. from APAC. You’ll work closely with Android Product, Engineering, Marketing and Legal teams on new initiatives and key strategic relationships. You will identify industry trends and key influencers. Empowered to chart your own path, you will run the process from start to finish. You will be responsible for our partnerships with OEMs, ODMs, and other key players involved in the creation and distribution of Android devices and services.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

  • Monitor and analyze major industry metrics, provide insights and recommendations, and communicate these through executive level presentations and documentation.
  • Open doors with potential partners, lead exploratory talks, build consensus with executives internal and external to Google, discuss complex, strategic partnerships that are often first-of-its-kind with C-level internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify, create, lead, discuss and implement effective, and often complex, business agreements that drive results across the Android and Chrome platform business.
  • Identify and prioritize partner opportunities, become an expert on each partner-opportunities organization, business model, and strategic priorities. Serve as the ongoing Android relationship manager helping to drive value from the partnership.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships, working both with top partners and, in some cases, via partners to address the larger ecosystem in a scalable fashion.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking.
  • 10 years of experience in translating global strategies into Asia Pacific implementation in mobile or consumer electronic industry.
  • Experience in the consumer electronics, auto, OEMs, telecom, e-commerce/retail, apps, ads, gaming, or technology industries.
  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships, or with ongoing partner relationship management.
  • Ability to communicate in Mandarin and English fluently to support the client management in this market.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience managing complex, end-to-end partnerships.
  • Experience working closely with key players in the mobile value chain and strong negotiation and business making skills.
  • Strong quantitative and data analysis experience with great presentation skills in internal and external meetings; investment banking, management consulting experience.
  • Ability to identify potential business opportunities, assess financial/business benefit, structure agreements, and discuss terms with strategic partners.
  • Ability to interpret legal documents and drive work with attorneys on drafting specific agreement language.
  • Able to operate on their own with a high attention to detail and function effectively with multiple cross-functional teams, including partner-facing teams.
