Your Role at impact.com:
A Strategic Projects Manager at impact.com is part of the global Strategy Team, reporting to the Principal Strategy Manager, and plays a key role in shaping and executing both global and region-specific strategic initiatives and key business processes.
Generalized Strategy Team Member
The Strategy Team supports leadership in making the most important decisions facing impact.com. Our work is focused on questions that shape the company’s direction, require executive judgment, and have material impact on resource allocation and outcomes.
We contribute by providing structured, objective analysis and clear recommendations. We do not own decisions or execution. Our role is to ensure decisions are well-informed, consistent, and aligned with long-term priorities.
We focus on problems that typically:
- affect multiple teams
- require executive-level decisions
- involve meaningful capital or trade-offs
- influence long-term direction
- lack a clear functional owner
Strategy Managers use their business skills to provide advice and expertise to solve issues, create value, and maximize growth to business owners. They identify options for the organization and suggest recommendations for change, as well as advise on additional resources to implement solutions. Over time, they may also take project leadership roles in areas of strategic importance.
P1: Strategic Projects Management (PMO Capability)
Ensure that strategy is translated into aligned actions across the organization and support the resolution of high-impact cross-functional problems. This work focuses on initiatives that require coordination across teams, involve strategic trade-offs, and do not have a clear functional owner.
How we operate
- Support for high-impact cross-functional initiatives
Provide analytical support and structure to initiatives that span multiple teams and require executive alignment.
- Problem structuring and decision support
Break down complex strategic problems, define options, and support leadership in evaluating trade-offs.
- De-risking strategic initiatives
Assess risks, validate assumptions, and help bring initiatives to decision readiness before execution is handed over.
- Contribution to strategic planning and alignment
Provide structured input into planning processes to ensure alignment with company strategy and priorities.
The Strategic Projects Manager will act as a strategic representative or project manager for Bets (impact.com’s innovation framework). In this capacity, the SPM is expected to handle a PMO-type workload, defining and coordinating the cross-functional roadmap for the success of a specific Bet.
P2: Driving Commercial Business Outcomes
The individual is expected to take a leadership role in setting financial targets, critically assessing the company's current financial standing, and proactively pinpointing both challenges and growth opportunities. Whilst also spearheading initiatives to optimize and refine processes, and collaborates with sales and marketing teams, guiding them to capitalize on opportunities and drive impactful growth.
Collaboration stands as a cornerstone for achieving success in this position. The Strategic Projects Manager collaborates intimately with local and regional operations teams and aligns efforts with the commercial units, ensuring the vision and objectives of impact.com's wider company strategy are consistently met.
What You'll Do:
- Oversee end-to-end project management responsibilities, including defining project scopes, coordinating cross-functional teams, setting deadlines, monitoring project progress, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Ensure that all projects align with the company's strategic goals and deliver the desired outcomes.
- Strategize and execute growth initiatives targeting existing clients.
- Champion operational excellence by iterating on existing core operations processes, or designing and implementing new ones.
- Direct detailed examinations of issues and opportunities, leveraging data and insights to make strategic business recommendations, and oversee the creation of detailed execution plans under tight deadlines.
- Work closely with sales teams to capitalize on new opportunities and align strategic goals to foster growth, especially as it relates to the segments of Enterprise and Strategic clients.
- Work with the Chief Revenue Officer and the Head of Renewals to optimize client retention strategies.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to ensure alignment between strategic initiatives and marketing campaigns & efficiency (if needed).
- Engage with product teams as needed to align product enhancements with strategic goals and client needs.
- Partner with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) teams, as well as the CFO to align on budgeting and forecasting efforts
- Collaborate on strategic planning, ensuring financial objectives are in sync with broader organizational goals.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the strategy team with its internal processes and key deliverables. Market and competitive intelligence, company performance analysis, thematic deep dives, financial and scenario modelling.
- Support in the recruitment of further A-class hires to strengthen the Strategy Team
What You Bring:
- Degree in Finance, Business, Management, or Analytics; Master's degree preferred.
- 2-3 years of Strategy experience required, ideally from Management Consulting or a Strategy position within a high-growth tech startup or an established technology company, followed up by 2-3 years in the operational line in some form of project management capability
- Strong analytical and technical skills
- A proven track record of managing stakeholders and thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Passion for tackling and solving ambitious problems.
- Demonstrated ability to distill complex analytics into clear, concise, and actionable insights.
Salary Range: $130,000 - $140,000 per year, plus an additional 10% variable annual bonus contingent on Company performance and eligible to receive a Restricted Stock Unit (RSU) grant.
