Strategic Projects Program Manager
The Strategic Projects will serve as the driving force behind\nthe company\u2019s large\-scale, long\-term projects. This individual will own the\nfull project lifecycle \u2014 from strategic scoping and stakeholder alignment\nthrough to delivery and performance review \u2014 ensuring projects are delivered on\ntime, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. This is a senior\nleadership role with direct influence on the company\u2019s revenue growth and\nstrategic positioning in the water and electricity sector.<\/span> Project Leadership &\nDelivery<\/span><\/b> \- <\/span><\/span><\/span>Lead and manage multiple\nlarge\-scale, high\-revenue water and electricity infrastructure projects from\ninception to completion<\/span> \- <\/span><\/span><\/span>Define project scope, goals,\ndeliverables, and success metrics in alignment with organisational strategy<\/span> \- <\/span><\/span><\/span>Develop and maintain\ndetailed project plans, schedules, risk registers, and resource plans<\/span> \- <\/span><\/span><\/span>Monitor project performance\nagainst KPIs and take corrective action as required<\/span> Strategic Planning &\nBusiness Development<\/span><\/b> \- <\/span><\/span><\/span>Identify and develop\nopportunities for new strategic projects aligned to the company\u2019s growth\nobjectives<\/span> \- <\/span><\/span><\/span>Support business development\nefforts including tendering, proposal writing, and client presentations<\/span> \- <\/span><\/span><\/span>Contribute to long\-range\nplanning and the prioritisation of the project pipeline<\/span> Stakeholder & Client\nManagement<\/span><\/b> \- <\/span><\/span><\/span>Build and maintain strong\nrelationships with clients, government bodies, utility providers, and\nsubcontractors<\/span> \- <\/span><\/span><\/span>Serve as the primary point\nof contact for key project stakeholders<\/span> \- <\/span><\/span><\/span>Manage expectations, resolve\ndisputes, and ensure high levels of client satisfaction throughout the project\nlifecycle<\/span> Team & Resource Management<\/span><\/b> \- <\/span><\/span><\/span>Lead and mentor\nmultidisciplinary project teams across engineering, procurement, and operations<\/span> \- <\/span><\/span><\/span>Oversee subcontractor and\nvendor performance, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations<\/span> \- <\/span><\/span><\/span>Foster a culture of\naccountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement<\/span> <\/span> <\/span> Governance & Compliance<\/span><\/b> \- <\/span><\/span><\/span>Ensure all projects comply\nwith relevant South African legislation, industry standards, and environmental\nregulations<\/span> \- <\/span><\/span><\/span>Prepare and present\ncomprehensive project status reports, financial forecasts, and risk assessments\nto senior leadership<\/span> \- <\/span><\/span><\/span>Maintain accurate project\ndocumentation in line with quality management systems<\/span> <\/span> <\/span> Qualifications & Experience<\/span><\/b> <\/span> Education<\/span><\/b> \- <\/span><\/span><\/span>Bachelor's Degree\nin Engineering (Civil, Electrical, or related discipline)<\/span> \- <\/span><\/span><\/span>Project\nManagement Professional (PMP) certification<\/span> \- <\/span><\/span><\/span>Additional\nqualifications in Business Administration, Construction Management, or Project\nManagement advantageous<\/span> Experience<\/span><\/b> \- <\/span><\/span><\/span>Minimum 10+ years\nof project management experience, with at least 5 years in senior/lead capacity<\/span> \- <\/span><\/span><\/span>Proven track\nrecord managing high\-value infrastructure projects in the water and/or\nelectricity engineering sector<\/span> \- <\/span><\/span><\/span>Demonstrated\nexperience managing complex, multi\-year, multi\-stakeholder projects<\/span> \- <\/span><\/span><\/span>Experience in the\nSouth African public sector and municipal client environment highly\nadvantageous<\/span> <\/span> Competence & Skills<\/span><\/b> \- <\/span><\/span><\/span>Strong strategic thinking\nand commercial acumen<\/span> \- <\/span><\/span><\/span>Exceptional leadership and\npeople management capabilities<\/span> \- <\/span><\/span><\/span>Advanced proficiency in\nproject management tools (MS Project, Primavera, or similar)<\/span> \- <\/span><\/span><\/span>Excellent written and verbal\ncommunication skills<\/span> \- <\/span><\/span><\/span>Ability to navigate complex\nstakeholder environments with confidence and diplomacy<\/span> \- <\/span><\/span><\/span>High level of financial\nliteracy \u2014 budget management, forecasting, and cost control<\/span> \- <\/span><\/span><\/span>Strong problem\-solving\nability and resilience under pressure<\/span> \- <\/span><\/span><\/span>Commitment to quality,\nsafety, and sustainability<\/span> <\/span> What we require from candidates\napplying:<\/span><\/b> \- <\/span><\/span><\/span>Detailed CV and\ninclude a motivation profile highlighting your skills, highest achievement and\na short message telling us why we should consider you for this job.<\/span> \- <\/span><\/span><\/span>Driver\u2019s license\nand own vehicle.<\/span> \- <\/span><\/span><\/span>Supporting\ndocuments and certified proof of qualifications.<\/span>
