Structural Engineer
As Structural Design Engineer, your duties and responsibilities shall be as follows:
- Design and analyze temporary support systems including formwork, falsework, shoring, scaffolding, and bulkheads for construction activities.
- Perform structural calculations for handling, lifting, and rigging of precast and heavy civil elements such as beams, bridge girders, piles, and panels.
- Develop engineering calculation packages, temporary works drawings, and installation procedures in collaboration with contractors.
- Provide technical support throughout construction, including guidance on sequencing, bracing strategies, and safe load transfer methods.
- Coordinate with contractors and safety teams to ensure constructability and alignment with site-specific conditions and safety standards.
- Design and detail foundations such as spread footings, pile caps, drilled shafts, and raft foundations for heavy civil infrastructure projects.
- Develop layouts and details for anchor bolts, embedded plates, dowels, and other critical interfaces between civil and structural components.
- Conduct structural analysis and design for:
- Box and pipe culverts
- Bridge superstructures and substructures (including abutments, girders, and deck slabs)
- Underground utility structures (e.g., manholes, vaults)
- Ensure adherence to applicable engineering codes and standards including AASHTO, ACI, AISC, ASTM, and relevant local regulations.
- Contribute to value engineering efforts, field change designs, and constructability evaluations.
- Participate in technical discussions and coordination meetings with clients and stakeholders.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.
