Starting Pay: $24.00/hour (Compensation may be higher based on experience.)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel CNC Equipment Operator to join a manufacturing team producing precision steel components. The ideal candidate has experience operating CNC cutting, drilling, or sawing equipment and is comfortable working with overhead cranes in a production environment.

This position offers the opportunity to work with specialized structural steel fabrication equipment while maintaining quality, accuracy, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC equipment by selecting the correct machine settings for each job
  • Operate one or more of the following:
    • Kinetic Plasma Table
    • Peddinghaus Saw/Drill Line
    • Peddinghaus Angle Master
    • Ficep Beamline
    • Verify material dimensions and specifications before processing
    • Select the correct material type, stock size, and required dimensions
    • Mark parts accurately according to production requirements
    • Read and follow work instructions, drawings, and production documents
    • Record daily production activity and material usage
    • Perform routine preventive maintenance and assist with troubleshooting equipment issues
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
    • Safely move materials using overhead cranes and material transfer systems
    • Regularly lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Required Qualifications

  • Experience operating CNC plasma tables or CNC sawing, drilling, or cutting equipment
  • Ability to safely operate overhead cranes
  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately to 1/16 inch
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to work on your feet for extended periods
  • Comfortable working in both hot and cold manufacturing environments
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, symbols, and production notes
  • Experience with Tekla PowerFab
  • Previous experience in structural steel fabrication or metal manufacturing
