Student - Abele Scholar Orientation Leader
The Orientation Leader helps create a welcoming, supportive, and engaging experience for
incoming cohort. This role is essential in helping new cohort members feel connected, confident,
and excited to join the program. Orientation Leaders work closely with program staff and student
leaders to plan and run orientation activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Help plan and organize the orientation program for the incoming cohort
- Arrive early to welcome new students and assist in leading during the first days of the
program - Support and encourage incoming students as they transition into the program
- Facilitate icebreakers, group activities, and discussions to help students build connections
- Model positive engagement, community values, and program expectations
- Serve as a friendly point of contact for questions, guidance, or concerns during
orientation - Provide feedback and suggestions to improve next year’s orientation program
Preferred Skills:
- Friendly, approachable, and enthusiastic
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Comfortable leading small groups or facilitating activities
- Organized and dependable
- Ability to support and encourage peers during transitions
