Student Advisor

  • 1-year contract role

Rostered working time:

  • 8.30am to 6.00pm

  • 10.00am to 7.30pm


Student Services

  • Assist students with general inquiries at the Student Services Hive Counter (scheduled roster).

  • Manage course-related email and phone inquiries based on assigned course portfolio.

  • Provide coverage for the Student Services Concierge Counter during exigencies.

Student Engagement

  • Establish multi communication channels and maintain strong relationships with student cohorts. Disseminate information to students via established multi communications channels

  • Disseminate essential course information, including start dates, exams, and assessments.

  • Provide course counselling to students transferring to new programs.

  • Address general candidature, course pathways, and administrative queries.

  • Collaborate with the Student Success Office on student, career, and industry engagement activities.

  • Support academics in organizing Student Staff Liaison Committee (SSLC) meetings

  • Actively participate in student engagement activities by either joining as a participant, leading the activity, or serving as a staff mentor for events.

  • Develop and implement initiatives to enhance student engagement.

  • Provide guidance and support to students to ensure a comfortable, reassuring, and enriching learning experience.

  • Collaborate with faculty, student organizations, and other stakeholders to promote student involvement and well-being.

  • Supporting the Deputy Director and Manager in organising student orientation and yearly graduation.

  • Working with the Staff Mentor and Faculty Advisor, support and provide advice / guidance to the CU Student Club in organizing student events throughout the year, monitoring the deliverables of the Student Club.

Student Cohort Management (For assigned course portfolio)

  • Coordinate with the admissions team on offer packs, cohort matters, and matriculation.

  • Liaise with course consultations and country managers for any student cohort enrolment matters

  • Process student transactions for re-module, deferment, exemption, transfers, and withdrawals, ensuring accurate status updates in the Student Management System (SMS)

  • Address and resolve student inquiries/feedback by coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, including the University.

  • Schedule academic intervention and support, where required

  • Ensure students are registered on e-attendance system and Blackboard, where required.

  • Reconcile enrolment numbers and collection of revenue.

  • Follow up on outstanding payments, late fees, financial issues, and instalment requests.·

  • Prepare and ensure accuracy of reports for royalty payments to the University

  • Maintain up-to-date student status records in SMS and inform the University of any change.

  • Foster strong relationships with the Academic Partnership Unit (APU) for course-related administrative matters

Others

  • Support ad hoc projects and tasks as required

Job Requirements

  • Degree in any discipline. Diploma holders with relevant experience are welcomed to apply too

  • 1 to 5 years of relevant working experience in the Private Education Industry is preferred

  • Strong customer orientation

  • Strong leadership and people management skills

  • Creative and resourceful in problem solving

  • Meticulous and self-motivated

  • Able to work under pressure in fast-paced work environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Willing to work on weekends when required for events such as graduation ceremonies and open houses
