Essential Duties

  • Implement the Student Workforce Program according to all the State of NM Standards of Apprenticeship and internship programs.

  • Maintain the processes and procedures for the pool of eligible students and employers, as well as document data and outcomes.

  • Process new apprentice/intern packets, including coordination and support of apprentice applicants through application, advisement, registration, enrollment, retention and completion.

  • Assign assessments and track apprentice and intern completion of minimum qualifications.

  • Advise students on program and course eligibility.

  • Coordinate the implementation of program delivery though class start letters, registration and tuition processes and other forms of communication with the college, employers, and students.

  • Track recruitment and retention data, and assist with implementing apprentice and intern engagement and retention activities.

  • Communicate with instructors and employers to obtain and report class and student updates, including attendance and quarterly grade reporting.

  • Provide career services to students including career coaching, resume and cover letter reviews, and interview preparation.

  • Conduct career services presentations in classes and programs.

  • Assist with coordinating events hosted by the Center for Student Careers & Employment.

  • Network with employers to build relationships for placement of interns and apprentices.

  • Performs related duties.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree and or related work experience in workforce, business, public administration, social work, human resources, or a course of study related to the occupational field.

  • Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with three to five years of related work experience.
