STUDENT-Audio Visual Technician
Overview
The Audio Visual Technician student position within the Audio Visual Services (AVS) unit provides technical support for audio/visual equipment in classrooms, lecture halls, and meeting rooms on campus. Other responsibilities include performing preventative maintenance on classroom equipment, staffing the AVS office, answering the hot line, and responding to troubleshooting calls on short notice.

Hours and Pay Rate
8-10 hours per week, fixed schedule based on availability of all team members.
Pay rate: $16/hr
Length of Employment
The role requires availability starting the week before classes begin through finals week of each semester. Additional optional hours are also available for most academic breaks.

- Complete Extron AV Associate certification
Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities (TDRs)
- Troubleshoot classroom technology over the phone and in-person.
- Create and update tickets in a timely manner to provide clients relevant updates.
- Provides on-call support for the campus community
- Collaborate with teammates to finish tasks and close tickets.
Candidate Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Must be a currently enrolled student at Ithaca College.
- Strong communication skills in English (verbal and written).
- Able to stand or sit for extended periods and lift 20 lbs comfortably.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrates critical thinking skills when troubleshooting.
