Student - Foreign Language Teaching Assistant
The Fullbright FLTA Program at Ursinus College is designed to develop the student’s knowledge of foreign cultures and languages and exposes students to a true understanding of people of different nations.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Teaching Assistant to professors in their language who will oversee their work.
- May be asked to do some independent teaching upon training with professor.
- In consultation with direct supervisor, TA’s will prepare lesson plans that are level-appropriate, covering topics such as everyday life, politics, art, classical and popular music, customs, and education.
- Will give informal presentations or organize campus events about their culture.
- Assist with other activities such as the International Film Festival, the International Language Day, Honors Society celebration and collaborate with other constituents on campus.
- Hold conversation classes, activities such as language table, language club and organized events.
- Will participate at Ursinus’s APEX (Applied. Professional. Experiential) initiative to share relevant insights and skills.
- May involve teaching and assisting all levels of classes.
