Job Description

The Food Cupboard Student Worker position assists with the day-to-day operations of the NHCC Food Cupboard, supporting students’ basic needs and overall well-being. This is an on-campus position focused on providing welcoming, confidential support to students accessing food, hygiene, and other CARE Center services.

Responsibilities:

  • Welcome students and visitors, explain service procedures, and assist visitors with checkout

  • Receive and stock food and hygiene items as needed within the Food Cupboard

  • Support with deliveries and donations, and properly stock items

  • Organize, clean, and sanitize the Food Cupboard and storage areas, including disposal of cardboard and recycling

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment

Salary Range:

$15 per hour

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled as a student at North Hennepin Community College

  • Awarded work study on your financial award in eServices

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Must be reliable and consistent.

  • Excellent customer service, communication, and organization skills.

  • Commitment to always maintaining student and employee confidentiality.

  • Experience using Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Teams.

  • Takes initiative on tasks that need to be completed.
