STUDENT INTERNSHIP DETAILS
At The Wellness Centre we are committed to providing young Caymanians with a valuable student internship experience. Each internship will be developed in collaboration with students to ensure the unique experiences match both educational and career interests.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Be a Caymanian student enrolled in a Bachelor's and Master's degree programme from an accredited university in a relevant discipline, including but not limited to psychology, mental health counseling, social work, or related fields.
- Clean police clearance
- Child Safeguarding (Darkness2Light) - will be provided
- HIPAA Certification - will be provided
- Excellent knowledge of Google Workspace, Canva, and Zoom
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Reporting directly to the Clinical Manager the Intern may assist and support the Clinical Team in any of the following ways
- Clinical Administration Tasks
- Sort, scan and shred clinical documents
- Assist the receptionist or administrative team with general duties, including front desk coverage
- Interact with our Electronic Health Record System (DrC) to support with client scheduling, and maintenance of current client lists for members of the clinical and developmental support services team
- Mental Health Promotional Tasks
- Design and develop psychoeducational presentations using Canva on a range of topics relevant to the services and programmes of the company.
- Design and develop social media campaigns, including vision, posts, reels, scripts. Topics and schedule to be determined by the Director.
- Plan, support and assist with mental health promotional opportunities in the community, including but not limited to Career Fairs, Health Fairs and Employee Wellness Fairs
- Psychological Support Services
- Engage in learning opportunities related to the utilization of mental health modalities and psychological assessment measures
- Observe the administration and scoring of psychological measures
- Participate in psychological assessment meetings and case discussions
- Support ongoing inventory management for psychometric testing
- Clinical Counselling Support Services
- Support clinical intake administration
- Engage in clinical team meetings
- Observe clinical intake interviews
- Observe clinical groups
- Research and Literature Review
- Support research projects, including literature review, research design, development of data collection measures, and analysis.
The intern will maintain client confidentiality and adhere to all policies of The Wellness Centre.
