About the role:

We’re currently seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Student Placement and Non-Clinical Education Coordinator to join our team in this newly created role, reporting to our Clinical Education Manager on a permanent part-time basis (24 hours per week).

Working across St Vincent’s Private Hospital Northside and St Vincent’s Private Hospital Brisbane you will play a pivotal role in co-ordinating clinical placements for healthcare student’s, and supporting non-clinical education initiatives. St Vincent’s Private Hospital Northside: we have over 1,000 dedicated and skilled staff who treat nearly 35,000 people a year, delivering safe and high-quality care to all our patients. Our hospital has 227 beds, 9 operating theatres, 2 cardiac catheter laboratories, a 17-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Day Oncology Unit, Breast Health Centre, Endoscopy Unit, Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit and a 24-hour, private emergency centre provided by Brisbane Northside Emergency.

Things that work for us:

  • AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a clinical specialty with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in an education or student facilitation role in a clinical setting

  • Demonstrated advanced clinical skills and knowledge in education learning theory, leadership abilities and strong collaborative skills

  • Contemporary knowledge and use of best practice principles in education.

  • Able to provide clinical practice and education consistent with the mission and philosophy of the business

  • Demonstrated application of contemporary infection control standards and practices.

  • Demonstrated ability to provide contemporary leadership that facilitates the ongoing development of clinical practice

  • Demonstrated ability to innovate and implement changes and develop direction in clinical and non-clinical education through planning, quality improvement and research

  • High-level knowledge of contemporary adult education, and the ability to translate this into education delivery

  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills and proven ability to educate, influence and be credible to a range of health professionals, non-clinical facilities teams, and consumers.

  • Demonstrated application of evidence-based practice in a health care education provision.

  • Ability to apply and adhere to relevant legislation, standards and organisational policies

  • Competence in using a variety of electronic information systems / platforms and educational theory
