We provide\ncomprehensive services across prevention, care, support, and treatment,\nparticularly for those affected by HIV and other infectious diseases.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>Role Overview<\/span><\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/p>The <\/span>Study Counsellor<\/span><\/b> plays a vital role in school\- and community\-level\nengagement under the project. They are responsible for conducting sensitisation\nsessions, obtaining informed consent, facilitating student and parent\ncommunication, and supporting referral linkages for TB screening and follow\-up.\nThe role requires strong interpersonal skills, community sensitivity, and the\nability to build trust with school staff, students, parents, and village stakeholders.\nThe ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in community driven change,\nwith experience in managing multiple stakeholder tasks preferably in similar\nNGO or public health sector projects.<\/span><\/span> <\/p><\/div> Key Responsibilities<\/span><\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/p>Community and School Engagement<\/span><\/span><\/b>:<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>- Conduct\nsensitisation sessions for students, parents, and teachers to raise awareness\nabout TB and the purpose of the TFSI project.<\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li>- Support\nthe scheduling and coordination of school visits in collaboration with the\nDistrict Coordinator and Study Team.<\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li>- Facilitate\ninformed consent and assent processes with students and parents/guardians.<\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li>- Provide\nclear and culturally appropriate communication about TB screening and referral\nprocedures.<\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li>- Maintain\na respectful, confidential, and supportive environment during all interactions.<\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li><\/ul>Counselling and Follow\-Up:<\/span><\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/p>- Provide\npre\-screening and post\-referral counselling to students and families as\nrequired.<\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li>- Encourage\nparticipation and address any fears, concerns, or misconceptions about TB and\nthe study procedures.<\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li>- Support\ncommunity\-level engagement by coordinating with ASHAs, ANMs, school staff, and\nlocal leaders.<\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li>- Assist\nin conducting home visits (where needed) for follow\-up on consent, screening\noutcomes, or missed visits.<\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li><\/ul>Documentation and Reporting:<\/span><\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/p>- Maintain\naccurate records of sensitisation sessions, counselling activities, and\nfollow\-up interactions.<\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li>- Submit\ndaily/weekly reports to the District Coordinator and central team as per\nstandard formats.<\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li>- Track\nconsent rates, refusals, reasons for non\-participation, and follow\-up outcomes.<\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li>- Contribute\nto the preparation of case studies, success stories, and community engagement\nsummaries.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

Requirements<\/h3>Qualifications & Skills<\/span><\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/p>- Bachelor's\ndegree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, Public Health, or a related\nfield.<\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li>- Minimum\n3\u20135 years of experience in counselling, community outreach, or school\-based\ninterventions.<\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li>- Experience\nworking with children, adolescents, or in school health programmes is\npreferred.<\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li>- Languages\- <\/span>Hindi<\/span><\/b> and <\/span>English<\/span><\/b> (spoken\nand written); local dialects are an advantage<\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li><\/ul>Desirable Attributes<\/span><\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/p>- Empathetic\nand respectful approach when working with children and families.<\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li>- Ability\nto build rapport and communicate complex information in simple terms.<\/span><\/span>
