Substitute Teacher
Job Summary:
Substitute teachers perform the instructional and classroom management processes for Covenant teachers who are absent. They are required to be a fully devoted Christian who will interact with students, staff, and faculty through a Christian worldview and in full support of our mission, vision, and core values.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Implement and teach lesson plans and instructions as directed by the absent Covenant teacher
- Maintain a clean, respectful, and orderly classroom
- Follow classroom and school procedures
- Keep records on attendance, accidents and incidents
- Ensure the safety of students at all times
- Submit your Substitute Teacher Classroom Report at the end of the teaching day
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must be detail oriented and able to follow written and verbal instructions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to remain patient and approachable while also monitoring an orderly classroom
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification required
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role is preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent walking/standing
- Ability to lift up to approximately 30 pounds may be required
