Supervising Events Producer - CNBC International (7-month contract)
OVERVIEW
As the Supervising Event Producer, you will oversee the strategic planning, creative development, and flawless execution of our entire live and virtual events portfolio, including flagship industry conferences, experiential brand activations, and digital broadcasts.
You will manage a team of event producers, map out master event timelines, and spearhead high-value vendor relationships, while simultaneously working alongside editorial, sales, and marketing teams to ensure every event aligns with our media brand's voice and monetization goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Event Production Leadership & Strategy
Lead, cultivate, and mentor a growing team of event producers and coordinators, providing clear direction on workload balance and career growth.
Serve as the central point of contact across all active event projects, ensuring consistent quality, brand alignment, and standard operating procedures.
Partner closely with Editorial (for programming/speakers), Sales/Sponsorships (for custom brand integrations), and Marketing (for audience acquisition) to build cohesive event experiences, ensure events meet editorial, creative and business goals.
Oversee the full production lifecycle – from concept development to post-event evaluation.
Production & Logistics Management
Translate brief into compelling event concepts, formats, and audience journeys.
Own the master production timelines, run-of-shows, and contingency frameworks for major tentpole events.
Collaborate with internal video production teams and external AV vendors to manage broadcast streams, staging, lighting, and sound for hybrid and live environments.
Oversee the sourcing, negotiation, and management of venues, production agencies, fabricators, and technology platforms.
Sales Support & Commercial Enablement
Partner closely with the sales team to support revenue generation.
Contribute to pitch development, including event concepts, audience insights, and creative proposals.
Translate sponsor objectives into integrated event and content solutions.
Support client presentations, pitches, and proposals with production expertise and feasibility input.
Ensure seamless execution of sponsor deliverables (branding, activations, content integration).
Identify new revenue opportunities (upsells, premium experiences, content extensions).
Marketing Strategy & Audience Acquisition
Partner with marketing, editorial, and digital teams to build and execute event marketing strategies.
Define target audiences and develop acquisition plans across owned, earned, and paid media channels.
Drive audience growth through campaigns, partnerships, and media distribution.
Oversee campaign messaging, creative assets, and event positioning to ensure consistency with brand objectives.
Work with marketing teams to monitor funnel metrics and optimize campaigns in real time.
Develop audience engagement strategies pre-, during, and post-event (e.g., community building, CRM, retention).
Budget & Commercial Oversight
Build, track, and reconcile event budgets, ensuring all projects deliver on margin targets.
Ensure all premium sponsorship activations, booths, and digital deliverables are integrated seamlessly into the event environment without compromising user experience.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Extensive live and virtual event production experience
Proven leadership in managing and leading a production team.
A proven portfolio of large-scale events spanning multi-track conferences, VIP dinners, and high-fidelity live broadcasts.
Deep familiarity with modern event tech stacks (e.g., Bizzabo, Slido) and project management tools
Solid understanding of marketing funnels, digital acquisition, and audience growth strategies
Renowned for maintaining a level head and decisive problem-solving skills during live event emergencies.
Sharp contract negotiation skills regarding venue buyouts, AV labor, and external talent.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Ability to travel for site visits and on-site event execution
DESIRED ATTRIBUTES
While not essential for this role, candidates with experience or proficiency in the following attributes tend to excel in this position.
Eight (8) or more years of experience in similar roles, preferably within a media company, agency, or fast-paced entertainment environment.
Three (3) or more years of people management experience.
