Supervisor / General Foreman (M&E) – Job Description
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily mechanical and electrical installation works and site activities to ensure timely and quality completion
- Plan and allocate manpower, tools, equipment, and materials to optimize resource utilization and meet project schedules
- Coordinate electrical, plumbing, sanitary, ACMV, fire protection, and other M&E works to ensure integrated project delivery
- Verify compliance of works with approved drawings, method statements, specifications, and authority requirements to maintain standards
- Conduct site inspections to monitor workmanship quality and progress against project timelines
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, main contractors, subcontractors, and other trades to resolve site issues
- Identify site clashes, delays, and issues, and propose corrective actions to minimize project disruptions
- Brief workers daily on work activities and safety requirements to promote a safe and efficient work environment
- Enforce workplace safety procedures and permit-to-work requirements to ensure compliance and prevent accidents
- Monitor material usage and coordinate timely delivery of materials to avoid work stoppages
- Maintain accurate daily records of manpower, progress, inspections, and site activities for reporting and tracking
- Participate in site meetings, inspections, testing, commissioning, and handover activities to support project milestones
- Inspect completed works before requesting consultant or main contractor inspections to ensure readiness
- Ensure prompt rectification of defects and outstanding works to uphold quality standards
- Train and guide workers, chargehands, and junior supervisors to develop team capabilities
- Perform additional site duties as assigned by the Project Manager or M&E Engineer to support project needs
