Supervisor Manufacturing Engineering

The Manufacturing Engineer Supervisor leads a team of manufacturing engineers to drive continuous improvement, ensure efficient production processes, and support new product introductions. This role is responsible for overseeing engineering activities related to process optimization, equipment maintenance, and quality assurance, while fostering a culture of safety, innovation, and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor a team of manufacturing engineers, providing technical guidance and performance feedback.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, Maintenance, and R&D to support manufacturing goals.
  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of manufacturing processes and tooling.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for production issues.
  • Manage engineering documentation including process instructions, PFMEAs, and control plans.
  • Coordinate and support new product introductions and engineering change implementations.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive actions to meet targets.
  • Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and manufacturing systems (e.g., ERP, MES).
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Experience in regulated industries (e.g., automotive, medical devices, aerospace) is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with automation, robotics, or Industry 4.0 technologies.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Office and manufacturing floor environment.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Must be able to wear PPE and comply with safety protocols.
