Supervisor Mechanical Engineering

Job Summary
Responsible for the day-to-day execution of the SFA (Special Feature Authorization) Mechanical Engineering Team objectives. Involved with the assessment of goals/objectives and the creation of solutions. Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals. Responsible for defining job responsibilities and delegating assignments to subordinates. Provides guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies. Identifies problems and updates or modifies working methods in own scope. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the team

Responsibilities:

  • Manage workflow of the SFA Engineering Support Team.
  • Mentor and train team.
  • Monitor and present department KPIs. (Speed & Quality)
  • Generate clear weekly report detail regarding department bandwidth & usage.
  • Manage the creation of BOMs and drawings for custom-designed HVAC equipment considering customer requirements, established product standards, manufacturability, shipping limitations, and HVAC/Mechanical/Electrical design principles.
  • Interfacing with Operations team at the manufacturing facility via in person, phone, Microsoft Teams and e-mail to address design issues that arise during final detailing and production phases.
  • Management and maintenance of BOMs and drawings on multiple projects, from preliminary stage through final production.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in an engineering field.
  • Punctuality and regular attendance; availability during set work schedule & timely completion of assignments / goals / OKRs
  • Ability to use a personal computer and job-related software.
  • Strong organization skills, ability to work and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong team building skills.
  • Timely, accurate responses to requests for design information and drawings.
  • Organization of drawings and documentation for efficient reference.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrating ethics and integrity.
  • Must be action and detail-oriented with strong problem resolution, analysis, & decision-making skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferred 2-4 years of additional supervisory experience in an HVAC related engineering field.

Travel Time Required:

  • Less than 10%
