The Sup, OR Support Services manages the daily operations of the Inpatient Operating Room Materials Management Office. Functions as the manager of the Inpatient Operating Room Environmental Services, Equipment Technicians, and Transport Aides. Assists Administrative Director with fiscal responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates billing activities with Finance Department.
- Oversees the Office of OR Materials Management and assures that the OR Materials Manager office functions to allow for best cost savings possible.
- Assures that required materials and supplies are obtained prior to scheduled surgery.
- Orders supplies, contacts vendors, and obtains P.O., etc.
- Oversees the implementation of the inventory program.
- Oversees the constant availability of supplies and equipment.
- Oversees the space needs of the OR to assure that hallways are free of clutter.
- Assures that maintenance issues are reported and corrected in a timely manner.
- Oversees environmental staff; assures that staff is properly in serviced.
- Assures that OR is adequately staffed to provide rapid, effective, cleaning between surgical procedures, as well as other daily cleaning.
- Revises and updates work assignment lists and projects.
- Assures that cleaning supplies are ordered and available.
- Provides feedback, direction and inservice to staff regarding billing and budget procedure.
- Oversees equipment technicians; assures adequate staffing; assures that staff is in serviced, and that equipment is functioning or that loaners are secured.
- Makes recommendations for future capital expenditures.
- Reviews monthly variance reports and budget reports.
- Oversees transport aides; assures adequate staffing and that staff is properly inserviced.
- Updates disaster list as needed.
- Lifts a minimum of 100 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 200 lbs. and stands a minimum of 3 hours a day.
- Adheres to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational & Managerial Competencies.
Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Bachelor`s degree in business or health care
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
- Materials management and computer systems administration experience
