Job Title: Pharmacy Operations Supervisor
Department: Inpatient & Infusion Therapy Pharmacy

Location: St Mary’s – 89 Genesee St

Hours Per Week: Full-time

Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30a-4p

SUMMARY

The Pharmacy Supervisor is responsible for coordinating the Pharmacy Department in accordance with the established policies and procedures of Rochester Regional Health System.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for scheduling pharmacy staff in accordance with departmental needs and scheduling standards (may delegate as needed)
  • Acts daily to identify staffing concerns and workload issues or policy questions and ensures that the appropriate staff is working on resolution or finding appropriate answers. Reaches out to upper leadership as needed for further resolution.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of changes in departmental operations to improve performance within the pharmacy department, working in conjunction with the leadership team
  • Responsible for direct reports, monthly rounding, yearly performance appraisals, etc.
  • Develop performance improvement plans for direct reports
  • Provides backup to the pharmacy team, working in the workflow as dependent upon scheduling requirements
  • Participates and contributes to management and professional committees and meetings, including Quality Assurance programs and initiatives
  • Coordinates and documents training progress and competency evaluations of staff
  • Maintain liaison relationship with other departments, providing necessary and timely information about pharmaceutical supplies, drug usage, compatibilities, state and federal regulations regarding drug controls, and other regulatory standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned by pharmacy management in an efficient and cooperative manner


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three years of related pharmacy experience preferred or a demonstrated ability to achieve positive patient outcomes in a similar environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and shape team members within the department.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in oral and written form.
  • Extensive knowledge of drug products, medical therapeutics, pharmacokinetics, and disease states.
  • Ability to work with information systems, automated and technical equipment. Ability to motivate and lead staff during times of change.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy Degree required.


Required Licensure / Certification Skills:

  • Current New York State Pharmacist License

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
