As a Supervisory Industrial Hygienist, you will perform the following duties: Serves as first-line supervisor within the Industrial Hygiene unit overseeing a team of industrial hygienists, industrial hygiene technician and/or safety specialists. Serves as an advisor on several Industrial hygiene scenarios and/or critical program segments such as medical surveillance for which both the scope and effect of the work have ICE-wide impact. Manages a comprehensive industrial hygiene program providing oversight and analysis of workplace health hazards, analyzing new hazards, completion of baseline and additional surveys, sampling methods, equipment use and recommendation of new equipment. Works collaboratively with Industrial Hygiene Unit Chief, public health advisor and safety and occupational health managers/specialists and a team within an enterprise-wide safety program including elements such as Collateral Duty Safety Officers (CDSO), providing Employee Occupational Safety and Health guidance, management of a Safety Management Information System (SMIS) database, and following Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) record keeping regulations. Serves as subject matter expert (SME) in the field of industrial hygiene within the agency management with responsibilities for oversight of contract service providers.
