SUPERVISORY IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (DIGITAL EVIDENCE)

This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Office of Forensic Sciences, Digital Evidence Laboratory. The purpose of this position is to serve as a Digital Forensic Group Supervisor providing first level supervision to a group of digital forensic examiners.

As a SUPERVISORY IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (DIGITAL EVIDENCE), your typical work assignments may include: Supervises general laboratory activities and analytical work of a group of forensic, clerical or technical employees in the examination and interpretation of digital evidence and related items. Provides technical and administrative guidance and direction concerning examinations and analyses of evidence; develops and ensures implementation of and compliance with safety policies and procedures for the laboratory. Reviews and evaluates laboratory workloads; develops and implements action plans to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of services; and coordinates laboratory support of field investigations. Performs duties in support of the laboratory quality management system, such as conducting audits, investigating instances of non-conformance, and implementing corrective or preventive action. Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management. Selects or recommends selection of candidates for vacancies, promotions, details, and reassignments in consideration of skills, qualifications, and mission requirements. Explains performance expectations to employees and provides regular feedback on strengths and weaknesses.
