Supervisory Power System Dispatcher

This position is part of the WAPA-SNR-Sierra Nevada Region. As a Supervisory Power System Dispatcher (AGC), you will provide technical support to a power system dispatch function and provide program direction and supervision in a Western Area Power Administration customer region.

As a Supervisory Power System Dispatcher, you will: Implement written operating plans, standards, and procedures to be followed in connection with the operation of the power system. Assure the effective and efficient control and operation of the system for the generation and delivery of capacity and energy to customers in coordination with interconnected utilities. Collaborate with different planning units to ensure dispatchers accurately post available transfer capability on the applicable OASIS. Collaborate with the Bureau of Reclamation and/or Corps of Engineers to plan and control daily power system operations, meeting objectives for power, water releases, and delivery based on load and water schedules. Provide advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters. Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets, and adjusts short-term priorities, prepares schedules for completion of work. Responsible for the preparation and reconciliation of required daily, monthly and annual operating and data reports.

Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends and/or holidays. Total salary varies depending on location of position.
