SUPERVISORY STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST

The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as first level supervisor over the Communication and Outreach Directorate. The Director of Strategic Communication, Air University, and Chief Communication Officer for Air University.

Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the Communication and Outreach Directorate, Headquarters Air University. Develops goals and objectives that integrate organization and communication objectives for all of Air University. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management. Represents the Air University with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Serves as a senior advisor, analyst, and technical expert on a wide range of issues related to communication, including but not limited to strategy development and communication planning, organizational change, organizational culture, private sector engagement and best practices, Congressional activities, publics peaking and professional writing supporting Air University. As a strategic advisor to the Commander the incumbent applies a working knowledge of research methodologies coupled with a high level of expertise in communication skills and strategic thinking to incorporate historical and factual analysis in support of both the Commander's presentations and decision making.
