Organizational Overview
Synchrony’s Strategic Partnerships and Agile team is an amalgamation of 4 sub verticals, SM (Supplier Management), CSS (Client Systems & Support) , OOA (Office of Agile) & SR (Strategic Relationships). Supplier Management & Strategic Relationship teams have the mission to maintain a right-sized, healthy, and dynamic portfolio of suppliers with the breadth and depth of capabilities to power Synchrony products and services while maintaining compliance with our Supplier Management program and reduce the 3rd party outsourcing risk.
The Supplier Risk Management program is categorized into three phases known as the Supplier Lifecycle. These three phases outline the high-level tasks a supplier will progress through from identification, to contract, payment, maintaining the relationship until the conclusion of the agreement. Third-party suppliers play a critical role in Synchrony's day-to-day operations, and upholding quality standards is essential. The Supplier Risk Management Program is designed to identify and manage supplier risks, ensuring adherence to Synchrony's policies and industry regulatory requirements.The Supplier Management team plays a critical role at Synchrony as they observe the Supplier’s ability to perform their contractual agreement. The Supplier Manager is accountable to manage the Performance and Risk of all assigned Suppliers by effectively leveraging the resources of the Supplier Risk Management Program.
Role Summary/Purpose:
Works with supplier management program office, supplier, and Tech& Ops teams to prioritize requirements, processes improvements, and drive supplier management and supplier risk programs. Determines opportunities for Tech &Ops standardization, optimization, and automation of processes and procedures within Tech&Ops Supplier management organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute Synchrony Supplier Risk Management. Program Requirements including training obligations, monthly manager forums, maintain and execute monitoring plans according to standards
Supports program to implement required Regulatory/Compliance changes.
Monitors supplier performance. Ensuring implementation of supplier process, procedures, and dashboards.
Performs supplier management activities, including regular follow-up/completing necessary documentation, on-going maintenance, and accuracy of all documents. (e.g., governance, monitoring plan escalation lists, insurance requirements, background checks as applicable etc.)
Engages suppliers in completing assessments and scorecards to ensure risks arising out of such relationships are understood and remediated appropriately.
Completes tasks, reporting status and work assignments in a timely fashion
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Supplier Manager Responsibilities for a select category vertical (May rotate in future), for Medium & Low Risk Suppliers, responsible for the end-to-end process of onboarding, monitoring supplier performance billing & offboarding. Ensuring implementation of supplier process, procedures, and dashboards.
Lead/Co Lead projects/initiatives for the team/SM COE Program. Work on process improvements, reporting, providing valuable insights, Innovation and Simplification Projects
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Work with Business owners for implementation of supplier strategy
To maintain a working relationship with the business stakeholders to understand impacts of supplier services & products
Required Skills/Knowledge:
Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with minimum 2+ years of Supplier Management experience/ exposure to SMCOE Program OR in lieu of a degree minimum 4+ years of experience.
Minimum 3+ years of overall Financial Service Experience.
Proficient in Coupa tool.
Desired Skills/Knowledge:
Minimum of 2 years of project/program management experience
Supplier Management Skill Enhancement Program experience will be desirable
Eligibility Criteria: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with minimum 2+ years of Supplier Management experience/ exposure to SMCOE Program OR in lieu of a degree minimum 4+ years of experience.
Work Timings:
This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time – 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs)
