Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer
We are looking for a Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer with strong attention to detail and analytical skills to join our team in Colón, Mexico. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our suppliers maintain the highest quality standards and comply with our organization’s specifications and regulatory requirements. You will work in collaboration with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and maintain excellence throughout our supply chain.
Your main activities will be:
• Single point of contact for the plant regarding all issues related to purchased part quality.
• Management and coordination of supplier quality incidents impacting the plant, ensuring timely and effective response.
• Management of containment activities at the plant to ensure supply continuity and minimize production impact.
• Support in tracking, validation, and recovery of costs derived from supplier-related quality incidents.
• Management and approval of supplier concessions resulting from deviations or quality incidents.
• Follow-up and support for the implementation and closure of corrective actions using the 8D methodology for purchased parts.
• Coordination and support in PPAP releases, ensuring compliance with quality and customer requirements.
• Ensure effective communication between suppliers, plant, support areas, and internal customers to drive problem resolution and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a similar technical field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 3 years Quality Assurance experience.
- Intermediate English mandatory (be able to lead meeting and communicate with international suppliers / stakeholders).
- Capable of supporting multiple projects and functions in a fast paced global environment.
- Understanding of metrology and industry standard measurement techniques.
- Knowledge of quality strategies and tactics to achieve new product launch and ongoing series quality issues.
- Must be competent to read technical drawings, process and quality assurance documentation in order to assure the quality of parts required.
- Detail-oriented and hands on support are required.
- Intermediate level familiarity with statistical techniques and reports, and Problem Solving.
- Demonstrated ability to interact well with personnel at all levels of the organization as well as suppliers.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Able to work independently, self-starter.
