Surface Treatment Lead will oversee, coordinate, and optimize all finishing and surface treatment operations, including \npowder coating, liquid painting, plating, anodizing, pickling, and passivation. This role is responsible for ensuring that all \nfinished products meet stringent aesthetic, anti\-corrosion, and adhesion standards while maintaining high efficiency, \nsafety, and regulatory compliance. with a focus on achieving targeted results across both in\-plant incoming supplier \ncomponents within the manufacturing vertical. This role plays a pivotal part in establishing, implementing, and improving \nSurface treatment systems, controls, and assurance practices in a growing organization. \nThe position offers a strong platform to introduce industry best practices, drive quality excellence, and build a robust \nculture. Requirements<\/h3>1. Production & Process Management
<\/div>
Supervise daily surface treatment operations (pre\-treatment, coating, curing, and final inspection) to meet \nproduction schedules.
<\/div>
Monitor and maintain optimal process parameters, including chemical bath concentrations, pH levels, \n temperature, bake oven cycles, and spray gun settings.
<\/div>
Troubleshoot finishing defects (e.g., orange peel, pinholes, poor adhesion, uneven thickness) and implement \n immediate corrective actions.
<\/div>
Manage inventory levels for paint, powder, chemicals, and masking materials to prevent production downtime.
<\/div>

2. Quality Assurance & Compliance
<\/div>
Ensure all finished products strictly adhere to customer specifications and international standards (e.g., ISO, ASTM, \nQualicoat, or specific standards).
<\/div>
Oversee testing protocols, including Dry Film Thickness (DFT) checks, cross\-hatch adhesion tests, gloss meter \n readings, and salt spray testing.
<\/div>
Maintain accurate logs of chemical titration, bath maintenance, and quality test results for audit readiness.
<\/div>
Ensure strict compliance with environmental regulations regarding chemical disposal, wastewater treatment, and \n hazardous waste management.

3. Team Leadership & Safety
<\/div>
Lead, train, and mentor a team of coating operators, painters, and chemical technicians.
<\/div>
Enforce the strict use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols (e.g., handling \n hazardous chemicals, ventilation safety).
<\/div>
Conduct regular safety toolbox talks and maintain a clean, organized work environment (5S implementation).

4. Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing)

Identify opportunities to reduce chemical waste, paint consumption, and energy usage in curing ovens.

Optimize masking techniques and racking layouts to maximize throughput and minimize rework rates.

Collaborate with the Maintenance team to schedule preventive maintenance for spray booths, conveyors, and \n chemical tanks.

5. Audit & Compliance Management \nFacilitate customer audits and lead internal and supplier audits, ensuring timely closure of non\-conformities and \ncontinual compliance with applicable standards.

Education & Experience:

\u2022 Educational Background: Diploma or Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Metallurgy, Mechanical

Engineering, or a related technical field.

\u2022 Experience: 5+ years of hands\-on experience in industrial surface treatment (powder coating or liquid painting

lines), with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.

Technical Skills:

\u2022 Deep understanding of multi\-stage chemical pre\-treatment processes (degreasing, phosphating, nano\-ceramic

coating, etc.).

\u2022 Expertise in powder coating electrostatic application or industrial liquid spray systems.

\u2022 Familiarity with sheet metal substrates (Cold Rolled Steel, Galvanized Iron, Aluminium, Stainless Steel) and their

specific treatment requirements.
