Job Description:

The Surgery Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and scheduling surgical procedures for high volume urology office. This role serves as a liaison between physicians, patients, hospitals and ambulatory centers. Ensuring efficient scheduling, accurate documentation and patient service. Ideal candidate is highly organized, detailed oriented and able to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environment.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for scheduling and coordinating surgical procedures, including hospital based and outpatient surgeries

  • Coordinate surgery dates, times and location with patients and physicians

  • Complete and submit surgical scheduling forms and documentation accurately and timely.

  • Verify insurance eligibility and prior authorizations as needed

  • Respond to patient inquiries regarding surgery prep, scheduling, insurance requirements and facility information

  • Keep open communication between doctors and surgical patients

  • Provide patients with pre-operative and post-operative instructions and schedule post op appointments

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent

  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

  • One plus year(s) experience in a medical office setting required.

  • Ability to sit, stand, and communicate to patients and staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Superior Telephone, computer, and typing skills.

  • Medical system experience

  • Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)
