Job Description:
Your responsibilities:
- Preparing and maintaining surgical instruments through washing, drying and proper storage.
- Assembling surgical packs and processing sterile packs via autoclave.
- Preparing surgical and catheterization lab suites for procedures, including cleaning, setting up equipment and (re)stocking (study-specific) supplies.
- Cleaning and maintaining equipment according to applicable SOPs including autoclave, instrument washer-disinfector and other surgical equipment routinely utilized.
- Assisting veterinarians with pre-operative preparation of animals and during interventional and surgical procedures.
- Monitoring anesthesia and animal vitals during surgical, interim and terminal procedures, collecting laboratory samples and administering medications.
- Assisting with the use of specialized software-driven equipment, fluoroscopy and ultrasound imaging, etc. in support of procedures.
- Maintaining an efficient and clean storeroom.
- Maintaining a clean, GLP-compliant lab and ensuring all logbooks are reviewed and correct.
- Providing customer service to clients through professional interactions and by responding to client requests as needed.
- Participation in the weekend rotation, and where applicable evening and night shifts.
- Other duties as assigned.
Your qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, e.g., agro- and biotechnology, veterinary technology or other relevant disciplines.
- Experience with GLP or other quality systems is an asset but not a must.
- You are dedicated to your tasks, precise and perfectionist, eager to learn, willing to invest time in your learning process and flexible in switching between tasks and duties.
- Team player with a hands-on mentality and proactive approach.
- You are proficient in English.
