YRGMERF\nis anticipating a project to strengthen the Urban Ecosystem Against Future\nDisease Threats by implementing a framework for urban\-peri\-urban coordination.\nThis project if commissioned will require a team of below positions to support\nthe coordination, implementation and monitoring of several components.<\/span><\/span>

Key Responsibilities<\/span><\/span><\/b>
<\/span><\/p>

The Surveillance Officer will be\nresponsible for supporting the project activities in the designated municipal\ncorporation and peri\-urban areas, coordination with stakeholders. Will report\nto State Manager based at Guwahati. Will work closely with other team members.<\/span><\/span>

Project Implementation Support<\/span><\/span><\/b>
<\/p>

  • Will be responsible to ensure that the\nproposed activities are considering current disease patterns as well as\nrequirements of the State and Disease health department.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/li>
  • Ensures that the staff are well trained\non use of data for program implementation and documentation.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/li>
  • Supports in designing various tools for\nsecondary information collection, analysis and use in the project.<\/span><\/span>

    Urban and Peri\-urban Coordination\nSupport<\/span><\/span><\/b>
    <\/p>

    • Analyses the disease surveillance systems\nin place both the urban and peri\-urban areas of the designated project\ngeographies. What are the contributing factors and their association with\ndisease frequency, severity and spill over. Prepare reports on these patterns\nincluding the factors associated with previous outbreaks.<\/span><\/span>
      <\/span><\/span><\/li>
    • Supports in preparing report on the\npreparedness of health facilities, staff capacity to address any spill\-over or\noutbreaks in future. What are the key resources that can be established within\nthe project resources to provide on the job skilling.<\/span><\/span>
      <\/span><\/span><\/li>
    • Supports in preparation of other\nstakeholders who could contribute in early reporting using existing IDSP tools\nincluding those in private sector. Helps in preparation of a landscaping report\non current practices and how those can be aligned with One Health activities.<\/span><\/span>
      <\/span><\/span><\/li>
    • Supports in documentation of various\nproject activities related to One Health, outbreak preparedness by discussing\nwith the stakeholders and participants.<\/span><\/span>
      <\/span><\/span><\/li>
    • Helps in understanding the peri\-urban\nvulnerability pattern to disease outbreak in the designated area and\nfacilitates preparation of a city action plan that guides several activities\nunder the project as well as through other resources.<\/span><\/span>

    • Helps in understanding current practices\nin Info\-demic management, how those practices have been successful in managing\nbetter surveillance and management of outbreaks in both urban and peri\-urban\nzones.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

            Qualifications and Experience<\/span><\/span><\/b>
            <\/p>

            • Master\u2019s in Public Health or\nEpidemiology or Bio\-statistics with minimum 5 years'<\/span> <\/span><\/span>experience in NUHM, Urban Health Project,\nDisease Surveillance, One Health Activities, National Vector Borne Control\nProgram. Preference will be given to local candidates who understands and have\nworked in Karnataka Health Systems.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
